D.R. Congo - Idjwi Island

This light roast offering comes to us from Idjwi Island on Lake Kivu, on the border of DR Congo and Rwanda, from a cooperative called Rebuild Women’s Hope (RWH) which boosts up women coffee producers, helping them take charge of their lives through entrepreneurial opportunities.

RWH’s mission is “to give women back their voice by placing them at the center of all integral development, in particular, economic empowerment and autonomy. We believe that income controlled by women has a significant impact on the life of the family, including the development and wellbeing of the community.”

The coffee itself gives us a dynamic flavor experience. Soft, earthy, and smooth green tea, lifted by a bright, fresh snap of rhubarb, and finishing with a clean, mineral texture finish.
